IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Penelope "Penny"
Wilson
August 15, 1943 – October 19, 2016
Penelope (Penny) Horde was born to Gertrude Baker and Robert Horde Sr. in Baltimore, Maryland on August 15, 1943. She left us to join our Father in Heaven on October 19,2016 due to a lifetime struggle with Polio. Penny is the twin sister of Pamela Barnes who was forever devoted and attentive to Penny until her departure. She is reunited in Heaven with her older sister, Janice Wilcox.
Penny was educated in the Baltimore, MD School System.
During her journey in life, she was joined in holy matrimony (and later divorced) to Nathaniel Evans Jr. Of this union, three children, Paula (d.), Joanne (d.) and Darlene, were born. Penny later married Leroy Wilson (d), and one daughter, Lisa, was born of this union. Penny was a very devoted and attentive sister, mother and grandmother.
In addition to being a wonderful housewife, Penny volunteered her services on a regular basis to feed the hungry, homeless and l or disabled. Penny was known in the neighborhood for her cooking abilities and opening her home to feed anyone needing a meal as well as always being willing to provide shelter to those in need.
In spite of her disability, Penny was known to travel across the city, mostly alone, whether by bus or mobile chair. Penny loved gatherings of friends and family and participating in activities such as card playing, bingo and other fun-filled events. Penny was proud of her affiliation and induction as an Eastern Star.
Penny leaves her twin sister, Pamela Barnes, to cherish precious memories. In addition, she is survived by two daughters, Darlene Evans and Lisa Wilson; eleven grandchildren, Latia (Tory), Paula, Tawanda, LaShaun, Juanita, Aaron (Nahkita), Darrius, Desmond, Daquan, Robert and David; fifteen great grand-children; three brothers, Robert (Wanda), Charles and Gary Horde; three sisters, Marlene Green, Pamela Barnes and Jacquelin Sanchez; one god-daughter, Aiya; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
