Peter Thompson Jr., departed this life on August 29,2015, after a lengthy illness. Peter was born on April 5, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Peter and Louise (Holiday) Thompson Sr. Peter was educated in the Baltimore City Public Schools System, where he graduatedfrom Douglas High School. At age 17, he left home to pursue a career as a history teacher where he enrolled at Wilming- ton College in Ohio, known as a Quaker school. He returns home to attend Columbia College where he liked the benefit of their work-study program, where he could work and attend classes. Later, attended Brooklyn College after friends convinced him to travel to New York City. While traveling to Ontario Canada and New York City he discovered a passion for cooking after working during summer breaks. To master his new found love for cooking, he attended a food trade school in New York where he took courses in catering. His working career began in the 50's where he worked several part time jobs such as Howard Johnson, Downsville and Oceanside catering. While working two part time jobs Landau and Continental Caters known for serving kosher menus. Continental later employed him on a full time basis when his work ethics was recognized for his hard work and dedication and was offered to setup for parties. He retired from Continental Caters after working for 30 years. During his retirement the city of Brooklyn, New York government paid for his produce from his vegetable garden, where it was used to feed the homeless. While working at Continental he met and married Ramell Miller there were no children from this union. They remained married for 42 years until her death February 14,2008. Peter was devoted to his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He always cooked for family gatherings such as weddings, reunions and funerals. Peter will be remembered for his love of family, books, cooking and his strong spiritual beliefs. He leaves to cherish his memory: one brother, Robert Thompson; three sisters, Ida Session, Louise T. Lawrence and Beulah Gray; two step- children, Randy Miller and Marian Miller; one sister-in-law, Mageline Thompson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins andfriends. Viewing Joseph H.
