PHELPS CLINTON DENNIS, JR., also known as "Sputnik", age fifty-two was born on November 24, 1958 in Salisbury, Maryland. He was the son of Phelps Clinton Dennis, Sr. and Willa Mae Toadvine. He went to his eternal rest on October 7, 2011 at Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Phelps Dennis was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. He was very athletic in school, participating in several sports. He also competed in Pinochle and Spades tournaments, where he received trophies. In December of 1981, he married Dorethea "Vanessa" Robinson and to this union, two children were born: Melita and Alisha Dennis. Phelps worked very hard to take care of his family. He was employed as a truck driver for many years. He had a special love for jazz and electronic equipment. He also enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Phelps loved spending quality time with his mother. He also had a special place in his heart for his father. Phelps' memories will be cherished by: his two daughters, Melita and Alisha Dennis of Baltimore, Maryland; mothere, Willa Mae Toadvine Mom; father, Phelps Dennis, Sr. Dad; he was preceded in death by his brother Vance E. Dennis; one aunt, Gwen Dennis of Norfolk, Virginia; two uncles, Larry Dennis of California and Roland Bivens of Salisbury, Maryland; one aunt who preceded him in death, Wanda Bivens; four sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Dorethea Dennis.
