After a long battle, she put her sword and shield down to be with the Lord. Phenice Manuel, the daughter of Alma Manuel and the late Rudolph Bullock, was born June 18, 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland. Phenice departed from this life on March 25, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Phenice, "Neeco" as we called her, received her her education in the Baltimore, City School System. Neeca was a very optimistic person that strived to be successful in everything she put her mind to. She was very smart and loved all types of music. Reading was one of her pet peas. She had numerous types of jobs. Her last job was for the State of Maryland as a Correctional Dietary Sergeant CDO until her sickness began in 2000 from which she was medically retired in 2004. Neeca, as a child had a special job in the church which was cleaning she was very good at it at Greater Hope Church of God in Christ. She attended church until her illness progressed. In 2000 she joined St. Martin Church of Christ to help support her cousin as a new pastor but her illness prevented her from attending. Neeca had two special skills - cooking and cleaning. Invite her to any type of event and when she got tired she knew how to shut things down. "Parents get your kids, fix your last plate and leave her in the kitchen alone." Her special saying was, "If I hurt your feelings, get over it and keep it moving" and would call you the next day and talk your head off! In her last days if she didn't answer the phone, you knew something was wrong because you reached a message that said, "You have reached me, please leave a message." Preceding her in death; Elder Acorn Manuel, her father, Rudolph bullock, sister, Lydia Manuel, brother, Isaac Manuel, Michelle and her grandparents. Neeca leaves to mourn; one son, Aaron Manuel, two grandchildren, Aaron Jr. and Shanice; mother, Alma Manuel; two adopted sons, Joseph and Andrew; three sisters, Claudette, Shelia and Kim; four brothers, Phaon, Darryl, Arnold and Keith; two sisters-in-law.
