Obituary

Phyllis Louise Stevenson was the daughter of the late Margaret Jackson and Louis Phillip Baker. She was born on May 26, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland and she departed this life suddenly on December 28,2017.

Phyllis attended Baltimore City Public Schools. She was determined to enrich and increase her knowledge and skillset. Therefore, in 1985, she attended cosmetology school and became a licensed cosmetologist. After achieving this milestone, she was persuaded with determination and drive to double back to attend the Harford Institute where she received her diploma. She pressed forward to increase her knowledge further by attend- ing the Sojourner Douglass College and the Harford Community College to get her certification in Floral Design.

Phyllis was employed by the Misty Harbor Sewing Company for a number of years as a seamstress and she was an excellent seamstress. Phyllis had many hobbies to include knitting and crocheting, but her favorite past time was shopping.

In 1967, The Lord blessed her with a beautiful daughter, Tracy. Then on May 19, 1973, Phyllis married the love of her life, Maurice E. Stevenson Sr. From this union two children were born, Maurice E. Stevenson Jr. and the late Monique L. Stevenson. Her Union with Maurice also gained her four other daughters: Robin, Norrice, Deborah, and Linda.

Anyone who knew Phyllis knew that her family was her life. Maurice was her second heartbeat and she absolutely adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. It was very critical that she spent quality time with her family, which she loved to do. All of her friends spoke well of her; often speaking of her smile and the words of encouragement that she would give. Those that she came in contact with grew to love her because she was that kind of person, her life spoke well of her.

The memory of Phyllis Louise Stevenson will forever be treasured in the heart of her husband Maurice E. Stevenson Sr.; her children: Tracy E. Byrd (Rodney), Maurice E. Stevenson Jr., Norrice Herndon (Earl) and Deborah Stevenson; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; Siblings: Angela Wheatley, Vineca Harrison, Ingrid Baker, Denise Durrant-Bey (Charles), Janice Sheriff, Annette Cook (Wiley), Brenda Elliott (Robert), Roxanne German, Nadime Matin (Melba); Aunt: Merion Baker- Anderson; Uncles:
