Plummer Corene Cain, the sixth of seven children born to the late Jonah Forrest and Alberta Cain, on August 21, 1932 in Greensville County, Emporia, Va. She departed this life on Wednesday March 25,2015 at 6:30 pm peacefully in her home after a short-term illness. Plummer who was known to many as "Corene" was raised on the family farm and educated in a one room school house in Emporia Va. with her five brothers Linwood, Henry, Amos Sr., Johnny, Nathan, and one sister Rosa Mae.Emporia is also the place she met the love of her life Luke Brown. Five dates was all it took and he became the co-author of her life on April 17, 1954. They moved to Baltimore, Md. and started a family. During this union God blessed them with three children, Phyllis, Michael and Jacqueline. Marital bliss lasted for 55 years until Luke's death. Plummer accepted Christ at a very early age, was baptized, and became a member of the Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Emporia, Va. Here she served on the choir and as the church clerk! secretary. After relocating to Baltimore Md., she joined First Charity Baptist Church .She served as an usher for many years. Her final branch of Zion before departing this earth under the leadership of Rev. Charles Dunn was with Freedom Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess.
