Just after dusk on Friday, January 20, 2006, God called His servant, MISSIONARY PORTIA ANN McNEIL home to rest. Portia, the beloved daughter of a devoted mother and father, Elvira Jones and the late George A. Jones, was born in Baltinmore, Maryland on March 26, 1949. She received her education in the Baltimore City Public Schools. Portia worked for the Department of Social Services and enjoyed her time there immensely. Afterwards, she became a Foster Parent providing care for children until her health began to fail. Portia affectionately known as ''Shay'' had a unique sense of humor. He laughter and outgoing spirit will always be remembered. Whenever Shay entered the room she made her presence known. Portia was ordained as a Missionary and later began to fellowship with the congregation of Victory Prayer Chapel, Inc. in the late 1970's. She went into the church as one who was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. After continuing in fellowship for a period of time, Portia untied in the spirit as one of the members. She was extremely gifted in witnessing to souls. Portia had an anointing upon her for drawing souls to Christ. Whenever she witnessed, souls were under conviction and would follow her to church. Portia also went into homes and taught the work of God to those who were willing to receive the bread of life. She sincerely had a love for souls to be brought to Christ. Everyone throughout the neighhood and community know her well, her spirit will be missed by many.
