Preston Howard West, Jr., age 73, of Baltimore, MD passed away peacefully, with his devoted wife

Kimberly by his side, on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at their Windsor Mill, MD home. Born in Delmar, DE on

October 1, 1945, he was the son of the late Preston West, Sr. and Lula Mae Ewell.

Growing up on the Eastern Shore, in Parksley, Virginia, he was educated in the Accomack County

Public Schools, graduating from Mary N. Smith High School in 1964. At Mary N. Smith he was a solid

student academically and excelled in sports. Known as "Scope" to his friends, he was the high school

football star, received letters in basketball, and was offered a few athletic scholarships he was unable

to accept. Upon graduation, he returned to his beloved alma mater as a mentor, and a football and

basketball coach.

Preston later moved to Baltimore, MD where was employed at Pantry Pride, serving as an educator

and a manager of various sites for approximately 20 years; and Rockland Industries as a supervisor

for 15 years, before retiring in 2004. After retirement, he joined the Democrat Social Club, filling his

days there as a transportation specialist for several years, for as long as his health allowed.

He will forever be remembered for being kind, witty, and straight to the point. Preston was an OG,

yet he was young at heart. He loved life. When he met his wife Kim, he told all of his family and

friends "Man, I done met this young girl. I don't know what I'm gonna do!" He delighted in spending

timewith her, his children and grandchildren, and his friends.

Preston leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Kimberly, daughters - Sheila of Bowie, MD, Lynette of

Baltimore, MD and Nashawna of Windsor Mill, MD; sons - Preston III, Brandon, and Chris, all of

Baltimore, MD; 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 son - Troy West, 1 daughter – Patricia West, 2 grandsons Brandon West Jr, and Jimmy West, and 2 sisters Dolly West-Dennis, and

Addie West-Marshall.
