Queen Esther Pitt, daughter of the late John and Naomi Hill was born on
March 16, 1932 in Edgecombe, North Carolina. She departed this life on February
4,2017.

Granny Queen, attended Acker High School in N.C. and later married the late

In the 1950's she moved her family to Baltimore, where she worked at the Shera-
ton Inn at John Hopkins as a cook, for several years until her retirement.

Granny Queen as she was affectionately known loved her family and spending
quality time with them. Her pass time favorites were pulling the slots at the Casi-
no, betting on the Horses at the Racetracks and watching the Baltimore Orioles.

She had several best friends and loved traveling with them on their girls only ad-
venture, (to name a few) Ann, Ida Mae, Shirley and Mable.

Preceded her in death: daughter Gladys Mae Hill, sister Beatrice Cooper, brothers
Alphonso and Jasper Hill and great grandson Jerome McDougald.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three grandsons, Harry (Victoria), Kevin
(Gail), and Corey Hill, two granddaughters, Saundra McDougald (James) and
Towander Hill, a special niece, Debbie Coleman, twelve great grandchildren,
twenty great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
