Obituary

On December 21, 2007, our heavenly father in his infinite wisdom called home his precious angel ''Queenie'' to enternal rest. Queenie Delores Butts, daughter of the late Victor Butts Sr. and Barbara Butts was born on June 25, 1959 in Baltimore, Maryland. Queenie was reared in a Christian home with her adopted mother Mary Wallace and accepted Christ as her personal savior at the John Wesley Methodist Chruch at a very young age where she sang on the Elizabeth Noel Choir. Queenie's education commenced in the Baltimore City Public School System. She went to Denver, Colorado, where she served in Job corps and received a certificate in cosmetlogy. Upon returning to Baltimore, Queenie pursued many positions in food services because of her passion for cooking and was head cook at Chesapeake Seafood Carryout for several years. Queenie loved assisting people and therefore in 2000 embarked on a career with United Cerebral Palsy where she worked as a Personal Development Assistant until the day she took sick. Working with persons with disabilies inspired her to enroll at Community College of Baltimore, where she received a certification in nursing CNA. Because of her addiction to shopping, she would ''shop til she dropped'' purchasing and listening to Gospel music was a hobby of hers and to name a few of her favorites, ''Jesus will work it Out'', ''I Won't Commplain'', ''The Battle is not Yours'' and ''Walk around Heaven'' by Patti Labelle. Spending time with her family and friends kept her content as well as her going to the hair salon and especially getting, keeping her nails done. She leaves to cherish her memory: a loving mother Mary Wallace; grandfather Dempsey Owen; four brothers Victor Butts, James King, Randolph King, Rev. Dr. Regininald King Sr.; eight sisters, Mary Morgan, Shirley Haines, Willie Stone, Amy Harris, Mary George, Arwilda White, Kathy Thompson and Wllen Wallace; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; one aunt, Mary E. Dukes; a special nephew Laquan; a devoted nurse, friend, doctor, counselor, lawyer, teacher and you name it. Belinda Drake and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Queenie will be truly missed by not forgotten.
