IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Quenten Marshall
Branch
September 17, 1986 – January 9, 2022
Quenten Marshall Branch was born on September 17,1986 to mother,
Adrienne Britton Stokes and father, Jonathan Branch. Quenten passed
tragically on January 9, 2022.
Quenten graduated from Archbishop Curly High School in 2004 and
graduated from Baltimore City Community College in 2006. He then
attended All State Career Academy in 2008, where he completed training to
become a commercial truck driver. Quenten loved being a truck driver and
drove for Hogan Transportation in Pennsylvania for several years. He
especially loved driving cross-country. However, after the birth of his
daughter Samaiya Norean, he soon realized being a good father required
that he spend more time with her. He left Hogan not long after her birth and
started his own trucking company, SNB Trucking, LLC in 2017, so he would
not have to be away for long periods of time. Quenten also drove for the
family's company, RU Ready Transportation, LLC, where he was a
respected coworker.
Early in life, Quenten developed a love for sports and physical activity. He
began playing baseball with the Northwood Baseball Leaque at five years of
age and continued to play within the league for many years, advancing
through its teams as an Indian, Dodger, and Cardinal. He was well known
for his abilities as a powerful batter. In high school, he played football and
relished his ability to tackle opponents. He taught that same tackling style to
his daughter. (If you've ever gotten a hug from her, then you know what I
mean.) Quenten continued to play intramural football and baseball long after
graduating from school. His favorite professional teams were Baltimore's
Ravens and Orioles.
A quiet soul, he had a big smile and even bigger heart. As a child he always
introduced people as his friend, even if he didn't know their names. Quenten
was smart and funny, and he possessed a naturally dry wit, which would
catch you off guard. He loved watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, the
two programs he watched as a child with his maternal great-grandmother
Norean Mayzck and later with his great Aunt Mary and daughter Samaiya
Norean.
Quenten was a dedicated and doting father, who worked selflessly to gain
sole custody of Samaiya. He was extremely happy for all that was to come
in the new year, eagerly anticipating his upcoming marriage to his fiancée
Allena, who he has known since third grade, and a new beginning as a
husband and father.
When a young person dies, there are so many left to mourn the loss, far too
many to name. If your name is not listed, charge it to my head and not my
heart. Quenten will be tremendously missed by many but especially by me.
It gives me comfort to know he was not alone when his life was taken.
believe his late great-grandmother Norean was holding him in her arms as
he transitioned from this life, just as she had when he was a child.
He leaves behind, in mourning, his parents, Adrienne and Allen Stokes;
father, Jonathan Branch; daughter, Samaiya Norean Branch; fiancée Allena
Roberts; grandparents, Catherine and John Powell, Lonnie and Michelle
Mayzck,; great-aunts, Mary Mayzck and Regina Britton; great-grand-aunt,
Dorothy Mello; uncle, Derek Powell; siblings Carl and Shaquille Stokes and
Andre, Angel, and Jamal Branch; cousins, Patricia Laurent, Joseph (Alia)
Mayzck, Sr., Joseph Jr., and Jonathan Mayzck; and a host of additional
cousins, nieces and nephews, along with many friends.
