IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Randy Troy
Barnes
December 11, 1961 – March 19, 2024
Randy Troy Barnes was born December 11, 1961, to the late Herbert Hoover Sr. and Minnie Edna Barnes in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the fourth oldest of nine children. Randy departed this life on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, due to a battle with a lengthy illness.
Randy received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System.
For twenty-plus years he was employed at Food-A-Rama, where he worked as a dedicated stock clerk. He later went on to work for Baltimore County Public Schools as a Sanitation Engineer, until he retired in 2008.
Randy was affectionately known as Moonface, by his family. He enjoyed many things such as spending time with his family and loved ones, playing a good game of trash-talking spades and most of all, eating. He loved a good cheeseburger from his favorite place to eat, The Corinthians.
His one true love and passion was being a great father and taking care of his pride and joy, his daughter, Tiffany. Randy also took great pride in being a big brother, grandfather and uncle. At any given time, you could catch him traveling around town with his grandchildren and nephews. Randy had a loving and supportive relationship with all his siblings including a very special bond with his older brother, Herb Jr. (Skinny). They were like Frick & Frack. He looked up to Skinny with great admiration and emulated everything he did. Randy was a very selfless and helpful person. His motto was, "If I got it, you got it". He would give his last to help anyone in need. He was an all-around great guy. His affectionate smile, sense of humor, loving personality and devotion to his family will be sorely missed.
Randy was preceded in death by his nephew Derron Cooke.
Randy leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Tiffany Barnes (Anthony Brooks Sr.); two grandchildren, Anthony "Tony" Brooks Jr. and Madison Brooks; three sisters, Johanna Brown (Markee' Brown), Marlene Cheeks (Andre Cheeks) and Cloretta Barnes; five brothers, Herbert H. Barnes, Jr. (Skinny), John Cooke (Denise Cooke), Craig Barnes, Dana Barnes and Kevin Barnes; three nieces, Katrelle Cooke ,Ciara West (Elijah West) and Hannah Brown; five nephews, Mario Barnes, Travis Howell, Shannon Cooke, Justin Cannady and Kyrea Cannady; and a host of other relatives and friends.
