Ranie Aline Cooper was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She
was born May 8, 1958 to mother Shirley H. Cooper and Father Clayton
Schley. She departed this life Sunday, January 20, 2019.
Ranie was the first born of four children. She graduated from Simon Gatz
High School in 1976 in Philadelphia. After graduating high school, she
moved to Maryland where she continued her education at the Community
College of Baltimore.
As a young woman she met and married Russell Geater and together they
had three children. She entered the nursing field which she practiced for
many years. Ranie loved to read and do research on anything Bible related
and enjoyed talking to others about her faith. She was very creative and into
arts and crafts. She could bring any picture to life. She liked to draw,
doodle, and color and help work on school projects. She also enjoyed
making picture collages of her grandchildren and had knack for catching
the kids in their funniest moments.
Ranie will be' greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves to
cherish her memory: her husband Russell Geater Sr.; one daughter Cammie
Straughter; two sons, Russell Geater Jr. and Clayton Geater. She also leaves
eight grandchildren: Kaiya, Paris, J ayden, Russell the 3rd, Christian, Clay-
ton, Sydney, and Amir. She also leaves to cherish her memory three
siblings Cheryl, Rodney, Eugene Cummings and a host of other relatives
and friends.
