Obituary

RAYMOND CLIFTON PARKER was born on may 10, 1932, the firstborn child of the late Raymond and mildre Parker. He was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools. In 1995, Raymond was diagnosed with cancer. He was expected to live "two years at the most" by the doctors. But praise God, he was in remission for almost fifteen years. During this final battle, his faith in God, acceptance of Christ as his Saviour, and the twenty-third Psalm, sustained him. Finally on November 4, 2010, Raymond departed this life, quietly, as he had lived. In 1953, Raymond and Sarah Redmond sue were married. Their fifty-seven-year marriage produced four wonderfull children: Frank, Rhonda, Lauren, and Charles. A man of few words, Raymond made his statements of love through his deeds. Holidays and birthdays were always joyous times to be remembered. He loved having the entire family around him. Listening to music, playing cards, and watching football were favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed performing his his duties at the masonic lodge. Driving was his special love. He often took the family on road trips no trips was too long. A conscientious and skilled driver, Raymond especially liked driving eighteen wheelars. A co-worker once said, "Ray Parker can make a truck dance." He was a faithful driver and instructor at Fleet Transit Company for many years until his health declined. During his illness he participated in several medical studies. As we see progrees being made in the fight against cancer, his legacy will live on. Mourning his death are: his wife, Sarah Parker; four children, Frank Parker, Rhonda Parker, Lauren Richardson, and Charle Parker; daughter-in-law, Kathy Parker; son-in-law, Ronald Richardson; six grandchildren, Patrick Graves, Sean Graves, Shanlle Parker; two granddaughters-in-law and six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Helen Lewis, Catherine Phillips, Patricia Jackson and Mildred Page; two brothers, Eugene Parker and Leonard Green; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law; two aunts, Mary Greene and Luvenia Green; and a host of other relatives and friends.
