IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Raymond Oliver,
Sr.
April 7, 1931 – October 27, 2019
Raymond Ralph Oliver Sr., was born on Tuesday, April 7, 1931 to the late
Henry Oliver Sr. and Eleanor Jones. Raymond was called home on October

He was educated in the Public School Systems of Virginia and Baltimore,

He worked for Floyd E. Smith Oil Company, Bethlehem Steel Shipyard
and Ray's Oil Burner Services, Inc. He was the First African American to

phone, that's just how good he was at fixing furnaces.
Raymond enjoyed watching his westerns, drinking coffee, his eggs over
easy, fried potatoes with lots of onions, tuna fish lots of onions, and
homemade cod fish cakes.
Every weekend he and his brothers would get together to play Spades and
of course Raymond would cheat and get caught. They would spend the
whole weekend together.
He didn't have a problem with telling a person about themselves.
Raymond was preceded in death by: his son, Raymond R. Oliver Jr., both
of his parents, four brothers, Henry Jr., Gene, Lawrence Sr. and Jerome A.
Oliver Sr., along with one sister, Lorraine Crosby.
Left to cherish his sweet loving memories: a dear and very devoted friend,

and Rita; four sons, Garry (Boobie) Johnson, Aaron A. McNair, Avery and
Cannon; two god daughters, Lisa Lomax and Saheerah; one brother,
