Obituary

Today we gather to celebrate the life and legacy of Raymont Albert Womack, Sr., who unexpectedly transitioned to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 10, 2024.
Raymont, one of five close knit siblings was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 13, 1968 to the late Albert and Brenda Womack. With his aggressive money-making talents, he was so adamant to ensure
that everyone he encountered was secure - a genuine giver at heart to individuals in his circle as well as so many strangers. Oh, our gosh, what a jokester he was - always lived his life in the mindset of making people laugh - his one-liners were for the record books.
Raymont affectionately known as "Big Ray, Goober, or Ham", received his education in the Baltimore City Public School system. He earned his certification for brick laying from Woodstock Job Corp while shadowing his big brother Maurice in cement finishing. Over the years, he gained extreme knowledge in how his craft would be utilized while working for Hunt Valley Contractors along with various other companies in Maryland. In 2016, after numerous years of service for other companies, Raymont stepped out on faith with the guidance from his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and began his own company, "CONCRETE 4 LIFE". Big Ray was so honored to be working side-by-side with his one and only biological child, Lil Ray - together they were able to establish an unbreakable closeness that only a Father & Son would be privy to - it is their family-owned business.
In 2013, Raymont rekindled his relationship with his childhood love, his beautiful Bae, Cheryl Johnson. After reuniting, they cemented their relationship with a marriage on May 22, 2014. What a day that was for Ray - all he wanted to do was enjoy "meeting Bae at the altar" and making her Mrs. Raymont Womack, Sr. They enjoyed their time together by traveling, spending time at home watching their favorite shows and movies, and of course, going out to dinner because he loved to "eat". His sweet tooth was always craving some sort of juke-food, especially red velvet cake, ice cream, and anything else he would come across that contained sugar.
Family, family, family - Ray absolutely loved spending time with all his family, especially and most importantly his 6-year-old grandson, Greyson. Raymont loved being a "Pop-Pop" to his grandchildren - so much so, he started two new businesses and named them after them - "Greyson's Car Wash and Baker's Candy Shop.
Together with his wife, Raymont was a faithful and loyal servant for nine years attending Soul Harvest Church of Ministry under the direct guidance of Pastor Merrill Griffin. He was honored to have the privilege of serving on several boards, Congressional Care Ministry and the Men's Ministry. No matter what the church needs were, Ray was always there to assist.
Raymont leaves to mourn and cherish his memories, his loving wife, Cheryl Johnson-Womack; one son, Raymont Womack, Jr. (Tavonda); one bonus son, Rashaad Johnson; two grandchildren, Greyson and Baker Womack; one brother, Maurice Womack, Sr. (Jacqueline)-, three sisters, Roslyn Bass, Veronica Rideout (Glenn)-, Altoinette Womack (Ronnie)-, five nephews, two that proceeded him in death Andrew Cox (2013) and Daman Carr (2022); Charles Richardson, Maurice Womack, Jr. Keith & Kevin Womack; and 2 nieces, Shanika Clark and Tanika Clark; two very close friends, Anthony Galloway (aka Tony Bologna) and Pastor Bryant Claiborne; along with a host of family and friends.
