Obituary

Reginald George Evelyn ]r. was born on February 6,1926 to Reginald Evelyn Sr. and Julia Hall. He departed from this life on April 21, 2015. As a child he lived in Baltimore, Maryland where he attended Douglass Senior High School. At the agc of 18 he was drafted into the United States Army where he served in World War II with Patton's, U.S. Third Army. When he returned he continued his education by graduating from Douglass Senior High and attending Morgan College. At Morgan College he studied biology and chemistry. On November 24, 1946, Reginald married the love of his life, Shirley Evelyn (Barraud). From this union came six children. While he and Shirley raised their children together, he worked lor the Social Security Administration as a Reconsideration Specialist. He would later retire from Social Security Administration after 41 years. Throughout his adult life he was an active member of the community. He served as Chairman and President of the Baltimore County Community Action Agency and as a member of the Baltimore County Vocational-Technical Advisory Committee. In addition, he served as Commissioner 011 the Baltimore County Community Relations Commission. Reginald enjoyed talking about politics and history. He especially enjoyed discussing his time in WWlI. His decorations during "''WII include the Good Conduct Medal, Europe-Africa-Middle East Medal, with two Bronze Battle Stars for Central Europe ami the Rhineland. Reginald also received the WWlI Victory Medal and the Marksman Medal. To know Reginald is to know love and laughter. He loved to walk everywhere, enjoyed passing time at the local McDonalds, speaking Spanish and spending time with friends and family. He leaves to mourn his passing, daughters, Sheila Evelyn, and Shelba Covington (Keith). His sons, Reginald Evelyn, Ronald Evelyn (Nadene), Raymond Evelyn (Sonja), fifteen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren and a host of other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherri, wile Shirley and sister, Isabelle.
