Obituary



Richard A. Damon (Chico) was born July 30,1950 in Baltimore, Mary-

land to the late Rosemary and Leo Damon Sr. On March 6, 2019 he

departed this life after a lengthy illness.



Chico received his education through Baltimore City Public Schools and

graduated from Dunbar Senior High School. Upon his completion he

. sought further education at Shaw University, Coppin State University

and Bay College.



He later met and married Carolyn Palmer-Damon and from this union

they had one son, Sean Damon.



Chico worked as a drug and alcohol counselor and in law enforcement.

He retired as lieutenant with the Baltimore City School Police Dept. and

as a police officer at Spring Grove Hospital Center.



He enjoyed playing cards, old school music, being a wiz with technology

and sports. He was known for his basketball skills and had a favorite

saying "there's only 3 basketball players in Baltimore City and I'm all 3".

Chico leaves behind: a wife, Carolyn Damon; 1 daughter, Ericka Levy; 3

sons, Richard (Ricky) Jr., Jermaine, and Sean Damon; 1 daughter-in-

law, Tracy Damon; 4 grandchildren, Rickii, Jermaine, Sloane and Karter

Damon; 4 sisters, Marti Hill, Patricia Gaines, Virginia Armstrong, and

Juanita Boyce; 2 brothers, Leo Jr. and Jerome Damon; 3 brothers-in law;

Bill, Mike and Leon; 2 sisters in-law; Joann and Mary Damon; 2 devoted

friends, Betty Peoples and Eddie Lofton.



Chico had 1 son (Jeremy), 1 sister (Delores), 2 brothers (James and

Ernest), 1 brother-in-law (Sherwin), and 1 sister in law (Cynthia) who

preceded him in death.
