On February 27, 2007, God called him home and said ''Your time has come Richard McCants Sr. At the age of 88, he was called home. Richard McCants, Sr. the son of the late Irene McCants and Jacob McCants was born on May 10, 1918 in Richmond County, South Carolina. Richard moved later to Baltimore, Maryland. Richard whom was Known to most as Da-Da or Bubbles attended Baltimore City Public Schools. Where he later met and married Henrietta. Together they had eight children, four girls and four boys. Richard work for Whiting Turner Contracting Co. and later became self employed. he was also a member of the Apollo SND Club. ''Bubbles'' was a very outgoing, loving and hardworking. He spent most of his time working, fishing and beingh around his family and friends. ''Da-Da'' will always be remembered for the person he was. We lost an extremely strong black man who loved life. Richard was preceded in death by his mother Irene McCants; his father Jacobs McCants his brothers and sisters; his grandson Rodney McCants jr.; and his grandson in law Mitchell Hargis. He leaves to mourn his wife Henrietta McCants; eight children; David Childs, Evelyn Thomas, Anita Cook, Richard McCants, Jr., Phyllis McCants, Antonio McCants, Mary McCants and Rodney McCants, Sr., one daughter in law; one son-in-law; two sisters, Ida Pettway and Alberta Wilson; twenty grandchildren; four sister in laws; three; brother-in-laws; one grandson-in-law; and two granddaughters-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Richard McCants, Sr. you will bd missed, thought about and will always be in our hearts. Love The Family.
