Richard Oscar Smith Jr., born on April 1, 1951 to Marguerite Gregory Smith and Richard Oscar Smith Sr. in Caroline County, Virginia. He was the oldest of seven children. He moved to Baltimore with his family at the age of 13 years old.

Richard also known as "Kimble" attended the Baltimore City Schools. He was employed at Continental Can until they closed down. After which he became a tractor-trailer driver which he loved doing like his father.

Kimble enjoyed family gatherings, especially family reunions. He loved going to Virginia for Family Reunions in August. He loved to dance and sing

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marguerite and Richard Smith Sr.; his brothers, George, Everette, Wayne, Maurice, Odell, Conelius and nephew, Brian Carlos Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his daughters, LaGwenda and Shanna Smith; four grandchildren, Anthony Smith, D'Asia Banks, Jerell Smith and Kenyon Davenport; sister, Diane Diggs; aunt, Catherine Landrum; two nieces, Latonia Dais and ToJaria Smith; five nephews, DeRay Diggs, Antwan Jones, Wayne Smith, Dion Smith and Donte Smith and a host of other relatives and friends.
