Richard "Tumpy" Williams was born on April 26, 1960 to the late Richard Williams and Marguerite Wright.
He departed this life after years of intermittent illness.
Richard accepted Christ at an early age. Much later, he joined South Church were he was extremely committed.He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Tumpywas attracted to occupations that allowedhim to interact with people. He was definitely in the business of service. To know him was to love him.Richard was a free spirited man who enjoyed lifeto the fullest. He loved doing everything he could to help others, neverexpecting anything in return.
Tumpy spent a lot time with the love of his life, Juanita Vinson, who was consistenltly loyal throughout his life.They shared a bond that was specifically tailored for them.Tumpy did almosteverything with with his brother and sisters. They looked out for one another no matter what.He was ecspecially close to Jackie, they talked daily. He enjoyed Sunday dinners at his house with his family.Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters. They were his whole world and he made sure they knew it.He could talk to you for hours about his countless sharerides. He always had stories to tell about hisday-to-day experiences with the people of Baltimore. He was more that a driver he touched the heartsof everyone he met. He love gatherings andwas proud to take his position as the chef. He was not onlya stellar cook but he was the life of every party. Richard was known for her signature crab cakes and his famo us fried chicken.
His anniversary was something the whole CherryHill Community looked forward to because of the delicious food he wouldserve. Richard was easy to love. He had a smile that was contagious,a laugh that was marked, a spirit that would that was comforting and a heart made of gold and strengthlike titanium. He was a father, a grandfather, a big brother, a servant, a leader, a friend, and the true definition of a MANand he will truly be missed.

Hisfour children whohe was actively there for, significantly proud of and always accessible to: Lakeshia, who proceeds him in death,Latashia, Brittany and Richard Williams. His partners in crime, his maternalsiblngs Jimmmy., who proceeds him in death Jacqueline, and Stephanie. His paternal siblings Linda andDee Dee. One brother in Iaw,James Walker.His granddaughters, who hecould never tell "no" Layla Barnes and Karsyn Williams.His bestfriends Myra Johnson and Aaron Hannah. And a host of relatives and friends.
