Robert Babb, son of Mary Finnell and the late Jasper Ricks, was born on March 28, 1947 in Burdette, Virginia. He departed this life on October 29, 2010 after a lenghty illness. Robert affectionately known as "Bob," received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Bob also attended Carver Vocational Technical High School for tailoring. Upon Bob's completion of his education, he became a full-time employee at Sinai Hospital as a cook. Later on, Bob became employed with Walter E. Cambell in Beltsville, Maryland for many years. Then in the late eighties he became employed with Wagman's Company, working as a machine operator until he became ill and was no longer able to work. Bob loved to eat and wqatch TV. He also loved to listen to music, especially "The Temptations" in the sixties and seventies, but as years went by he loved to listen to "Luther Vandross." His favorite gospel song was "Sdending Up My Timber." Back in the day he loved to sing and dress. He would always wear his hat tilted to the side sharp as a tack. Bob will be sincerely missed by everyone he knew. He leaves to mourn; his mother, Mary Finnell Mae; sister, Corinthian Peaches;n daughter, Starlinda and Tyrese Rese; son, Dominic Nicky; fourteen grandchildren, nine boys, five girls, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, one uncle and a host of other relatives and friends. Bob also leaves to mourn; a very devoted friend, Mary Puga Davis who stood by him until his departure, her two and four grandchildren who were his second family. His two daughters, Romona Mona and Crystal preceded him in death.
