Robert Harry Carter, son of the late Aloysius Penn Carter Sr. and Bertha Theresa Carter, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 6, 1954 as the first of twins. Robert H. Carter, who was affectionately known as "Robby", was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. He later held various employment positions throughout Baltimore.

Robert was a loving person and shared whatever he could offer. He enjoyed spending time with family and laughing with his nieces & nephews. Robby loved fishing, dancing, watching television, listening to old gospel hymns, and eating; especially candy. Robby was often called the quiet one, but his smile was very loud.

At an early age, Robby attended St. John A.M.E. Church under the leadership of the late Dr. Benjamin Foust. Robby was stead-fast and unmovable overcoming several life difficulties. However, after a lengthy illness, Robert departed this life on Friday, April 14, 2017.

Preceding him in death: his parents; brother, Tyrone Carter; sister, Beverly Ann Carter; brother-in-law, John A. Mills; sister-in-law, Marleen Carter; brother-in-law, Jerome Gourdine, Sr.; niece, Tangie Hargrave, and devoted friend, Esther Goody.

He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Beverly T. Carter; granddaughter, Travell Mellison; sisters, Jacqueline Mills, Cynthia Gourdine, (twin) Barbara Carter-Johnson, and sister-in-law Lidia M. Carter; brothers, Aloysius Penn Carter Jr., Kermey Carter, brother-in-law Tyrone Johnson, and adopted-brother & nephew Charles W. Carter. His memories will continue to flourish through a host of nieces, nephews, COUSins, and friends.
