Robert Cathatius Chase, was born on June 26, 1933. He departed this life on March 9, 2007, afterf a lengthy illness at Veteran's Hospital. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Robert was the last born of 9 children. He was educated in the Calvert County, MD Public School System. At an early age he joined the Brookes United Methodist Church of Calvert County, Md, and was a faithful member there. Robert served in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge. He worked for FTD Florist Company. Later, he workded at A&P Bakery for over 35 years and retired in 1995. The Seminole Social Club was Robert's second home and he served as the Business Manager for many years. His CB handle was ''TURTLE''. This was alsso what his friends called him. His family called him Papa Chase. Robert was loved by all. He was a strong person, who had a big heart. He shared his richness of loved and kindness with family and friends. Robert was always willing to help others. He will always be remembered for the love and kindness he shared with everyone. Robert was a devoted husband and father. Robert leaves to mourn: his wife, Mary Batson Chase, three daughters, Robin A. Chase, Roslyn M. Chase and Connie Payne, one son, Eugene V. Chase, one daughter-in-law, Sharon Chase, one step-daughter, Antoinette Coleman Woolford; two sons-in-law, James Woolford, III and Frederick W. Coleman, Jr,. one sister, Ruth Chase Jackson, of Dorchester, Mass.; two step-sisters, Henrietta Bourne and Ollie Johnson of Calvert County, Md; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Smith Batson and Yvonne Wiley Batson, one brother-in-law, Joseph Batson, two favorite cousins, Bernita Paige and Betty Capehart; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and a life long friend, Jimmy Lee.
