Robert Lee Floyd, Jr., was born to Charlotte Partlow and Robert
Floyd, Sr. on June 1, 1994 in Baltimore, MD. Robert entered eternal rest
on December 28,2015.
Buttons, as he was called by family and friends, attended Baltimore City
and Baltimore County Public Schools. Throughout his adolescent years he
was engaged in several youth programs at local recreation centers in his
East Baltimore community. At the age of 12, Buttons started attending
Arlington-Lewin United Methodist Church, where he joined the youth choir
and served as an acolyte during morning worship. Buttons was a video
game enthusiast, often spending several hours playing Madden. He had a
fondness for basketball and football. At the age of 13 he surprised everyone
by earning the starting quarterback position for the Randallstown
Panthers; which was his first time playing organized sports. Buttons led his
team to the playoffs and quickly became the "Big Man on Campus" at Deer
Park Middle Magnet School.
Buttons enjoyed being around his family. Whenever the family would get
together he would gather all of his cousins and join in all the latest dances.
His proudest moment was the birth of his son, Syion.
Buttons leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Syion; his loving parents,
Charlotte Partlow and Robert Floyd, Sr.; one brother, Gerald Cooper; two
sisters, Las/anne Floyd Williams (Glenn Williams, Jr.) and Ieshia Smith;
two nieces, Jamya and Iahria Williams; nephew, Glenn Williams, 3rd; two
grandmothers, Thelma Partlow and Betty Floyd; a loving Godmother,
LaTonya Reid; 9 aunts, 9 uncles, and a host of cousins, family, and devoted
friend, Shamere Ridley. Viewing Joseph H. Brown Jr. Funeral Home
