Obituary

Robert Buck Jones, the son of the late James and Annie Jones, was born April 27, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland. He fell asleep in death June 26, 2014, after a long illness. "Buck", as he was affectionately known by everyone, grew up in South Baltimore. Robert was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools. He worked many years at various jobs and retired from McCormick Spice Company. He then started his own business called "Security Plus" making pure steel decorative doors, windows, and railings. Everything Robert made was solid and attractive. At the age of 35, in thefall of 1972, after studying the Biblefor more than a year, Robert was moved by his love for Jehovah to dedicate his life and symbolize it by water baptism. As Robert progressed spiritually he was appointed a ministerial servant in the Lexington Congregation. Robert chose Gloria to be his bride and in 1996 they were happily married. Soon thereafter Robert began serving as a regular pioneer. Robert was affectionately known as the brother who brought the friends ice cream when they were sick. He had a natural love and interest in people and found it easy to strike up conversations with perfect strang- ers. Robert was always happy and pleasant and he had a gift for making people laugh and feel happy. He loved to talk and always had a "story" to share. Robert was always ready to give people a helping hand, espe- cially when i~ came to cars. Robert was dearly loved as a member of the Druid Hill Congregation and we are sure he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Robert Buck Jones leaves to cherish his fond memory: his wife, Gloria Jones; children, Perciphany King, Robert Jones, Jr., Crystal Jones, Van- essa Jones and grandchildren; stepchildren, Carolyn Cromartie, Darrell Lee Cromartie, Nancy Hamilton, Ivy Griffin and grandchildren; three surviving siblings, Ortillia Hardeman, Helen Ballard and Elroy Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
