Robert Lewis Jones, son of the late Rev. Oren L. and Elizabeth Jones,
was born on January 25, 1955 in Halifax County, North Carolina. He
departed this life on November 1, 2015 after a lengthy illness.

Beck, as he was fondly called, received his education in the Baltimore
City Public School System where he graduated from Mergenthaler Voca-
tional Technical High School. He was on their basketball team where he
helped them win a championship title. At the age of 22, he went to work at
Bethlehem Steel for 5 years. He then took a management position at
Lafarge Cement where he remained until he retired. He served as a union
representative for both companies because he enjoyed helping people.

He accepted the Lord at an early age and was a member of The New
Second Missionary Baptist Church for 20 years where he drove the church
bus. He later became a member of Faith United Baptist Church with his
wife Gilda. His love of the Lord lead him to attend The Baltimore School
of The Bible where he graduated in 1993.

He met and married Gilda Addison of Baltimore, Maryland on April
15, 1995. From this union he gained a step-daughter Seantrese Wimbuish.

Beck made numerous friends where ever he went and will be sincerely
missed by everyone who knew him. He always had a story to tell. He also
loved his Ravens and enjoyed debating with his grandson's about their
"wrong" choice in teams.

Preceding him in death: his father, Rev. Oren L. Jones; mother,
Elizabeth Jones; wife, Gilda Addison-Jones; brother, Eddie Thomas Jones
and his sister, Almer Jean Jones.

Robert leaves to rejoice in his home going; one daughter, Nicole A. Jones;
. step-daughter, Seantrese Wimbuish; six grandchildren, Rodney and Rich-
ard Willis, TaQuan Watkins, Nicholas Jones, Carissa Shropshire, Car-
meron Howard; one brother, Leon Jones; two nieces, Angela and
Christina Jones; one great nephew, Caiden Jones; mother-in-law, Doro-
thy Addison; two devoted friends, Malcolm Jones and Tyrone Brown and
a host of other relatives and friends.
