Obituary

Robert Eugene Reed, the son of the late Charles Reed Sr. and Sarah Bell Reed was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 30, 1952. He was educated in the Baltimore City Public Schools System and graduated from the Historical Frederick Douglass High School. He devoted his life back to Christ on January 26, 1964 at Pennsylvania Avenue A.M.E. Zion church. Robert was also referred to as "Hue or Rie" to family and friends and "Roggie" to his beloved mother whom he devotedly care for until her demise. He was a Mason. He was also the the proud Owner and Operator of Kozans Enterprises, named after his two grandsons Koby and Xander, until his decline in health. His last place of employment was Standard Auto Parts.

Robert   was   a   lover   of   horses   and   horse   racing. On any given day you could find him at
Pimlico Race Track doing what he loved the best... betting on horses with his crew Will, Dickey and his little brother Joe. Rie's favorite sports next to horse racing were fishing and baseball. He loved going fishing with Michael and catching an Orioles game with family members. Another passion of Rie's was his love for travel. He was the "Trip
Extraordinaire." He would plan a trip to New York or Dover Downs at the blink of an eye. Two of his most memorable trips was going to the Kentucky Derby and traveling to Maine to visit his good friend Tom. He scheduled and planned many of the Reed Family Reunions at various destinations. He assured his family knew one other and got together annually for food, family and fun.

Robert was always passionate about the advancement of African Americans and wasn't a stranger to attending political events and meeting with political figures. It excited him to tell stories about how times have drastically  changed and how back in the day it wasn't uncommon to see movies stars like James Brown and others on the Pennsylvania Avenue strip unguarded and being able to engage in conversation without security. He was a lover of
many genres of music and his favorite celebrity was Vanessa Williams whom he thought was the "BEST" singer, model and actress. Robert leaves to mourn: His 2 daughters: Xenia Reed Murchison and Xavia Reed. His longtime
companion/friend Frances "Chickadee" Vaughn; two sons-in-law Lowell Murchison and Derrick  Arter; seven grandchildren: Xiyhel, Xander, Kwabena,   David,   Daniel,   Lowell   Jr.   and   Asya;   and his great-grandson Ximeer. His two living brothers: Charles Reed and Joseph Reed and two sisters, Peggy Stanton and Jacqueline Duvall; his wife Vivian Reed; a sister-in-law Gloria Evans- Miles; Destini Vaughn-Vick whom he loved and raised as his own daughter, and a host of family, cousins and friends.
