Robert Donell Torain, son of the late Jessie and Wilmer Torain, was born on Febuary 6, 1937 in Burlington, North Carolina. He suddenly departed this life on Wednesday, December 12, 2007. Robert received his education in the Burlington Public School System. After graduating from high school, he relocated to Baltimore, Maryland and obtained employment with Hedwin Corporation. He retired in 2001, after twenty-five years of dedicated service. Upon retirement, robert obtained part-time employment at Hedwin as Security Ofiicer. On September 29, 1979, Robert married Ella Ruth Thelma Smith. Robert gave his life to christ at United Pentecostal Church, under the direction of Pastor Joseph M. Showell. He later became a member of Greater Harvest Baptist Church, under the direction of Pastor Errol D. Gilliard. Robert was preceded in death by one brother, Willie Torain, and one son, Tyrone Davis. He leaves to mourn; his loving, faithful and devoted wife of twenty-eight years, Ella Torain; four daughters, Yvonne Torain-Smith, Patricia Kees, Diane Wooden and Carolyn Harris; two sons, Robert Brooks and Samuel Flint Lisa Bonds;one daughter-in-law, Sharon Flint; three sons-in-law, Warren Smith, Larry Wooden, and Gregory Harris; one sister-in-law, Esther Taylor; two brothers-in-law, Leroy Courser and Thurman Trusdale; sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, two nephews, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
