Robert Washington Jr., born December 20, 1928 to the late
Robert and Lulla Washington in Imporia, Virginia. He
transitioned from earth to glory on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018.
Robert was educated in Greenville, VA Schools.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal savior. In
1988, he joined, Providence Inspirational Baptist Church,
under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Clifton E. Freeman Sr. He
loved his church home.

As a young man he joined the U.S. Army and served his country.
Later he met and married Valerie DeShields. Together they became
the parents to Dyra Boyd, Brian Stephenson, Jerome and Wayne
Webb, and the late Patrica Greene and Brian DeShields. Robert
was employed by King Tile Co. He was a tile layer, he also was a
hacker in the Edmondson Village area.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory; a devoted wife of thirty-one
years Valerie; one son, Willie T. Moore; one step daughter, Dyra
Boyd; mother- in-law, Sarah Anthony; three Brothers-in-law,
Dwight, Gerald, and Ramish DeShields; two Sisters-in-laws,
Denise Burke, and Beverly Gaskins; grand- children, Latina
Jones-Banks (Charles); Kazi R. Moore, (Valerie); Tyson D.
Moore, Shawnita, Haley, Shawan DeShields, Angela Lynch;
Godchild, Eric Butts, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins
and friends.
