Obituary

ROBERT H. WILLIAMS, JR., son of the late Robert H. Williams, Sr. and Elenora Kelly Williams, was born on January 10, 1924 in Baltimore Maryland. On Monday, August 15, 2011 at St. Agnes Hospital, Robert made his transition to his Heavenly Home. Robert received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. As a young man, Robert served his country in World War II, and was Honorably Discharged with a Purple Heart and other medals of Honor. He was self employed for many years, and then was employed at Fort Meade for than fifteen years. Robert gave his life to the Lord when he joined New Shiloh Baptist Church in the early 1980's and received Christian Baptism under the leadership of Rev. Harold A. Carter, when the church was located at Fremont Avenue and Lanvale Street. Robert loved his church so much that he folllowed them to their new location on Monroe Street. He was always up early, every Sunday morning ready to Praise his Lord! Robert was known as "Pop-Pop" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert was quiet and very personal. He loved the outdoors. When his health began to fail, he lived in several Assistance Living Homes for many years. He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Joyce Wilson and Beverly Green; son-in-law, Charles Green; step-daughter, Lillian Harp; two-granddaughters, Karen Thompson husband Emery Thompson and Tiffany Brunson husband Tanon Brunson; grandson, Charles Green III wife Erika Green; great-grandchildren, Justin Thompson, and Destiny Green, two sisters, Florence Bennett and Mildred Wesley; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
