Roberta H. Nicholson, daugther of the late Christina Brown and Vernon Brown, was born on September 29, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on March 19, 2011 after a lengthy illness. She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Roberta had various jobs, but was last employed at Friendly's Restaraunt. Bert, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was loved by everyone. She enjoyed a good party with family and friends, frying chicken for family events and don't forget, she loved to eat that starch. She Especially loved her Friday night gatherings with her children Dill and Tay and her grandchildren. Roberta had no problem telling you "like it was" and once you met her you'd never forget her. Roberta leaves with loving memories of her life; daughter, Cordelia Holley; son, Kyle Ferguson; three grandchildren, Nakeya Preston, Tanisha Johnson and Machella Holley; three great=grandchildren, Ralph Henderson, Keon Preston and Tanasia Coker; brother, Eugene Smith; sister-in-law, Sandy Smith; two aunts, Cordelia White and Viver Cunningham; and four best friends two of whom preceded her in death Annie and Cornelia Lee and Diane and one special, long time friend, Sandra Ferguson; Velly and Bert grew up together as cousins, but were more like sisters, and a host of other family and friends.
