Rodney William Beckham "aka "Poo" the son of the lare Irene Kess and William Beckham was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 24, 1953. On August 27,2014 God called him home after a lengthy illness. Rodney received his education in Baltimore City Public Schools. He was in the first group of African American students to integrate Mount Royal Middle School. He later graduated from Carver High School where he excelled in track and field. Rodney worked many years as a supervisor for Bethlehem Steel and MolcraftInc. In his later years he worked in the hospitality industry, where he loved working and spending time with his brother Reginald. From these positions he formed many lasting friendships. Rodney was affectionately nicknamed "Poo " by his mother's friend Martha Barnes. "Poo" was known as the fun loving, quick talking, tell it like it is friend. He loved to play basketball, eat crabs, and wear the coolest hats in town. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family and friends. Poo made everyone he encountered laugh and at all times left a lasting impression. Throughout his illness he continued to keep a smile on his face. He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Barbara Edwards; his mother, Irene Kess; his father, William Beckham, and one sister, Ramona "Sissy" Kess- Greene. He will be forever missed by: two daughters, Dana John- son (Buddy) and Terrell Lee (Brian); four brothers, Rickey Johnson, Reginald Kess, Rayner Howard and Roberto Arrington; three sisters, Roxanne Kess-Childs, Rochelle Arrington and Valerie Beckham; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and special friend, Calvin Smith.
