Obituary

Rodney Louis Jones, son of the late Edward Randall Jones, Sr., and Dorothy Elizabeth Jones. Rodney was born on January 03, 1959, in Baltimore, MO. He was called to glory peacefully on July 29, 2025, at his home. Rodney earned his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Through his life, he cultivated love, peace, kindness, and unforgettable memories for everyone around him. He was definitely a peaceful man. Rodney was a man of laughter; his smile would light up the room with a radiant glow of love. Rodney enjoyed childhood life growing up with his siblings and would always speak to his sister Robin on her birthday. As a teenager and throughout his adult life, he was known to take long walks with his headphones on, sometimes with a boom box. His signature look was having one of his pant legs being rolled up. Rodney enjoyed drinking coffee, and he loved to sit in the park listening to music. His favorite group was "Earth, Wind & Fire." Rodney could often be found at his Uncle's Shoe Shop on Greenmount Avenue in Baltimore City. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Edward Randall Jones, Sr., and Dorothy Elizabeth Jones, James Cecil McDonald, Jr., and Brother, Roland Lynn Jones. Rodney loved his family. He gained a second family that he loved dearly. He was loved and cared for by Lisa and Hubert Rice and her entire family. He loved to travel and garden. Rodney loved and cared for his two dogs. It was often to find him watching a good movie with his snacks and a Pepsi soda. Rodney loved breaking down cars and building it back up. Rodney was very particular about his hygiene and his appearance. If it was his way, he would change his outfits three or four times per day. He loved to look good. His claim to fame is that he was a "Baller." Rodney's best friend, Rober gave each other nicknames. Rodney called Robert "Skinny head," and Robert called Rodney "Ralph." The nicknames stuck with them throughout their entire friendship. He leaves to remember his legacy: his sisters and brothers; Randall, Rhonda, Reginald, Edward (Diane), Renita (the late Kenneth,) Paul, Kurt, James, John, Charles, Beverly, and Robert. Uncles: Calvin and Robert; Aunt and Godmother, Betty, Phyllis, Katherine, Beatrice, Kathleen, and Daphne. A host of nieces and nephews. Rodney will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
