Roife Scott Wade
was born February 25, 1939 in Baltimore,
Maryland to the late Lawrence Wade and Harriet Young, and
transitioned from this life January 16, 2018.
Rolfe was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and
graduated from the George Washington Carver Vocational-Technical Senior
High School. While attending high school, Rolfe met the love of his life,
Miriam Briscoe. Soon after graduating, Rolfe and Miriam were joined
together in holy matrimony. From their union of 61 years, four lovely
daughters were born; Donna, Phyllis, Lisa, and Judith.
In March of 1956, Rolfe, who was affectionately known as "Buster", enlisted
in the United States Army. During his time in the Army, Rolfe severed as a
Drill Sargent, Military Police Officer, and honorably defended his country
during the Vietnam War for two tours. After his honorable service to the
United States Army, Buster was employed by the Anchor Motor Freight
Company, where he worked until his retirement 2002.
Buster was beloved by his family, friends, neighbors, and most of all, many
children throughout his neighborhood. Buster was known to offer his
services to many .neighborhood children as a bicycle repairman and would
often purchase ice cream for them.
Rolfe is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Miriam B. Wade; four
daughters; Donna Wade (Baltimore), Phyllis Wade (Baltimore), Lisa
Newsome (philadelphia, PA), and Judith Hampton (Fayetteville, North
Carolina); four grandchildren, Chevette Blackwell, Pacinia Blackwell-
Gordon, LaQuwietitia Conley Gerald), and Dominique Hunter (Anthony);
SL'{ great-grandchildren; Kysean Morgan, Hannah Gordon, Anthony
Gordon, William Harrell, Addison Hunter, and Thomas Harrell; two
brothers, Billy Newton (Farmingham, Mass), and Larry Curtis (Sarasota,
FL.); four sisters, Laura Powell Littleton (North Carolina), Doris "Fuzzy"
Kelly, Ann Single, Catherine Jackson (Las Vegas, NV); one uncle, Morien
Perry; one aunt, Patricia Chainey; one sister in-law, Audrey Weems; one
brother in-law, Robert Briscoe; and a hose of nieces and nephews. Rolfe was
preceded in death by his grandson, Rolfe Donnel Wade.
