Rommie Lee Lawson was born on March 26, 1952 to the late Bishop Johnnie Lee Lawson and Mattie Blount Lawson in Lenoir County North Carolina. He departed this life on September 8, 2015 while at home. He received his education at Frank High School in La Grange North Carolina. And continued his education in Baltimore at City High School receiving a trade in building. He was employed by WC Jackson for 30 Years. Rommie was a free spirited man. He joked, laughed and played. He also had good times with his friends Bill, Jean, Dutch and Ace. In the mist of these good times his oldest daughter was born. Mrs. Makia Norton has grown into such a wonderful mom and wife to Mr. Robert Norton. Rommie later met and married Christine Higgs Lawson. And from this union, they had four children. Dontae Bowen, William Bowen known as Barn, Rommie Lawson and Crystal Lawson. Rommie leaves to cherish his memories five children, and all his siblings. John and Vicky Lawson, Mable and Leonard Wright, Brenda and Glenn Hackett, Peggy and Alton Waters, Stephen and Hellen Lawson. Along with a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, one sister n law, mother n law and a host of friends. Rommie spent most of his last days with his family in Baltimore and in North Carolina. He . loved being around Aunt Bernice. Rommie loved to ride around alone. No one knew where he was going and he told JlO one where he would be. But if you had crabs, shrimps or a pot,ofbeans~ you seen him there eating.
