Obituary

God brought Ronald Herman Queen to life on June 21, 1940 and called him home on December 20, 2007, Ronald was born to a very loving mother, Thelma Elizabeth Queen Turner; his father, William Boone, preceded him in death. Ronald's step dad, Malcolm Turner deceased left an unforgettable influence on Ronald's life. Ronald attended school in Baltimore City where he excelled in math. In his early years Ronald attended Trinity Methodist Church. He then joined St. Katherine located on Presstman Street where he became an altar boy. Later Ronald served God at Emanuel Christian Community Church. He started working at age thirteen or earlier and didn't stop until he fell ill on November the 5th 2007. Ronald was a dependable, reliable, steadfast worker. He worked three jobs at one time, not for himself but for his family. Ronald's love for work was shown in every step he made. There was not a lazy bone in his body. You could set your clock by Ronald's movement and if he said he would do it; it was done. Ronald was a caddy at the Baltimore Country Club, later he worked at Automotive Sales and Services. He also worked at USF&G in the evenings. In 1981 after Automotive Sales closed, Ronald was blessed with a job working with his father, Malcolm Turner, at Lee L. Dopkin Plumbing and Supply Co; where he was still employed when he was called home. Ronald started his own cleaning business but due to circumstances beyond his control it folded. For many years, Ronald worked devotedly on Saturdays for the Singer-Dannenberg family. He soon became a part of their family and still worked for them until he got sick. Ronald met, fell in love and later married Lucinda Adele Stokes on May 17, 1959. From their union five children were born, Anthony Quentin, Rodney Malcolm, Ronald Lamont, Tryrone Fitzgerald and Rhonda Monique, who became the reason for his existence! Ronald was completely passionate about roller-skating. He skated at the Star Light Arena on Pennsylvania Avenue and at the Coliseum on Monroe Street. He was a member of the infamous El Diablo Skating Club. But he pawned his treasured roller skates to take his girfriend Lucinda to the movies! Ronald was a very quiet, private person and had a dry sense of humor and was fun to be around. He loved fishing, football and tennis, but he absolutely, Positively completely loved Golf. He had three devoted friends who preceded him in death, his brother Wayne Queen, Carroll Wright and John Lewis. He leaves to see him again; his wife Lucinda A. Queen; five sons, Anthony Q. Queen, Rodney M. Queen, Ronald L. Queen, Tyrone F. Queen, Lamont Pommells; two daughters, Rhonda M. Pommells and Natasha Queen, four grandchildren, Daminon Rogers, his friend Tiara Bailey, Nikia Mack, Lamont Pommells and Ayreon Pommells; great grandson Asaad Jamal Neal; a devoted mother Thelma Turner; a loving second mother, Margery Dannenberg; four sisters Denise Smith, Helen Paysour and Alease Stokes; Frances Blackwell, two brothers, Leon L. Stokes and George Orange; two aunts, Wanda King Queen and Mattie Wood. Countless nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends, the Singer-Dannenberg Family, employees at Wachovia Bank, Bank of America.
