Ronnie Jones was born on June 4, 1946. He departed this Life on Saturday, November 16,2013. Ronnie was the second child born to George Savoy & Mary Bailey both of whom preceded him in death. He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and after graduating he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served his country in the Vietnam War and upon returning home furthered his education at Baltimore City College where he majored in journalism. As an honored veteran, he was a lifetime member of the VFW where he often spoke at their scheduled seminars and special events. In his later years, Ronnie continued his education at Coppin State University and became a motivational speaker to other recovering addicts urging them to maintain their sobriety and that it is never too late to make amends, find strength and inner peace through faith. Ronnie will truly be missed. He was a people person and people loved him. Ronnie had a passion for music. Music was his Joy and the Whispers were one of his favorite groups. He also enjoyed watching movies and making movies for his family and friends. Ronnie had various jobs-a true Jack of all trades, he worked for the Mass Transit Administration, a youth counselor for a short time, a truck-driver and also worked for the United States Postal Service. Ronnie was affectionately known by a variety of nick-names including "Mouse", "Shaky" and "Peanut". He leaves to mourn his wife, Fabra M Stewart-Jones; one brother, Albert Jones (Kathy); son Duane Akil Jones (Erica); daughter, Sagirah Jones; niece Lisa Bordley; nephew Eric Jones, two stepdaughters Angell Carrol and Janiece Cooper and a host of very devoted family and friends including a very close and dear cousin Saidah Abdullah.
