Roosevelt Miller, son of the late Rev. Benjamin Miller and Minnier Miller, was born June 7, 1919 in Lynchburg, S.C. He departed this life June 8, 2009 after long illness. He received his education in Sumpter County, South Carolina. He came to Baltimore, Maryland looking for better employment. There, he met and married his lovely and devoted wife, Ellanora Watson Miller. They were happily married 64 years. "Roose," as he was so lovingly called, accepted the Lord at an early age. He joined the Pennsylvania Avenue A.M.E. Zion Church in 1944. As a very sincere and a true servant of the Lord, He served as a Class Leader, Tithing steward, and Treasurer of the church for many, many, many years. All those who knew him shall remember him enjoying gardening, cooking especially his pound cakes, home improvement projects, playing pool and his love of sports watching baseball and football on Sunday afternoons. Roosevelt leaves to cherish his memory and rejoice at his entry into an eternal life of rest and peace: His loving wife, Ellanora; Sister -in- laws: Beulah Truesdale and Annie Lee Fulwood; Godson/nephew, Glenell Fulwood and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews and close friends.
