Rosa Mae Owens, daughter of the late Lee Sparks and Dennie Kelly was born on October 12, 1917 in Hartsville, sc. God called her to his eternal kingdom on August 22, 2014. Rosa was united in marriage to William Boyd Owens in 1942. Rosa also known as "Babe" and "Rosemary" was a loving stepmother to Elizabeth "Betty" Fenner and the late William "Billy" Owens. Rosa was employed in the dietary department at Johns Hopkins Hospital for many years. She later provided loving care to numerous children while doing domestic work. Rosa was a faithful follower of our Lord and Savior at any moment she would start quoting scriptures and singing gospel hymns. She attended Seventh Baptist Church for many years. Rosa was a kind and generous person always helping and serving others as a volunteer in her community. She was an avid reader of novels and the daily newspaper. Rosa's presence at our family gatherings will always be memorable. Rosa leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted daughter Betty Fenner (Ernest); three grandchildren Ernest "Lee"(Kelly), Shannon, Kimberly "Kim'" seven great grandchildren Isis, Shawn, Khai, London, Nicoles, Jala, and Jessica; one niece Dennie Foster, and a host of relatives and friends.
