Obituary

Rosa Lee Stewart was born on July 3, 1946 in Union, Sc. She was the oldest of three children to

her parents, the late Louise Browning Adams and James W. Young. She departed this life on

gust 6,2019 after a lengthy illness.



he was educated in the Baltimore City School System. Rosa was united in marriage to her

high school sweetheart, the late James (Jimmy) Stewart in 1963. They were blessed with two

sons, Damon Edward and Darrin Anthony. Later in life, she gave her loving heart and "Moth-

ered" Audi and Reggie Fugett and Andrew and Peyton Polite.



Rosa was employed at Read's Drug Store, Schmitz's Bakery and st.



Edward's Catholic Church Daycare Center. It was at the Daycare Center

where she discovered her love and passion, caring



for children. Members at st. Edward's recognized Rosa's special "gift"

and requested her to be a Care Giver for their children. The majority

of her life was spent caring and nurturing children of various

families in the Baltimore area.



She was an active member of st. Edward's Catholic Church until

her illness. Rosa was a proud member of the following: The

Willing Workers, The Traditional Choir, The Good News Choir,

A Eucharistic Minister, Servants of the Crucified Savior, The

Young Adults and The Daycare Staff.



Family was very important to Rosa. She was affectionately

called "Coot" by family members. Rosa loved and adored her

aunts and uncles, whom she embraced as her brothers and

sisters. In addition, she had an unbreakable bond with her

siblings, children and the joys of her life, "her grandchildren!"

It meant the world to her to be a part of family events, i.e.

traveling, reunions, outings, special occasions. She

contributed to those gatherings by sharing her cooking

expertise by honoring and celebrating family recipes.



Rosa enjoyed a simple life. She enjoyed reading romance

novels, word searches and crossword puzzles, watching soap

operas and traveling. She made numerous friends wherever



she went and to their good fortune, everyone was welcomed to partake of her good cooking.



Rosa leaves to celebrate her life: sons-Damon (Annette) Stewart, Darrin (Monica Summers)

Stewart, children-Audi Fugett-Jones, Reggie Fugett, Andrew and Peyton Polite, siblings-James

Adams (Old Bridge,NJ), Dr. Jacqueline Young (Montclair,NJ), Calvin Adams (Edison,NJ), Carolyn

Adams (deceased), five grandchildren-Shaneia Stewart, Ridge Froneberger, Devrin Stewart,

Dylan Stewart, Dakota Stewart, one great grandchild-Nevaeh Stewart, Sister in-law Lear (Pinky)

Powell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
