IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosalie I.
Holland
May 28, 1947 – July 29, 2019
Rosalie Iserbela Holland, daughter of the late Rhunette Conyers and Charles Cain,
was born on May 28, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland. She received her education
through the Baltimore City Public Schools System and earned her Associates of Arts
degree from Baltimore City Community College. Rosalie held several job, but was
employed as an Income Maintenance Specialist at the Baltimore City Department of
Social Services where she worked for over 25 years until she retired in 2007. She
transitioned from illness on July 29, 2019.
"Rose", "Rosie", "Ro" or "Ma", as she was so affectionately known, was a very
hardworking, loving, kind-hearted and generous lady. She was genuinely loved by all
she encountered and left a special mark on others' hearts with her sweet spirit.
Neighbors, co-workers, friends and family, alike ALWAYS had kind words to
describe her. After her retirement you could always catch Rose obsessively cleaning
her home or taking care of-a few of her grandbabies, but one thing everybody knows
about Ro is, she loved to have a good time. Cookouts, family dinners, card games,
even childrens' birthday parties would tum into all night affairs! Always the life of the
party, "the little lady from Mount Street with the fastest feet" would kick off those
heels and do her shuffle. Amidst all of the working, dancing and partying she loved
her family. Rose was simply put, the matriarch of her family. She paved the way for
her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins with
wise words of wisdom, acts of selflessness, displays of sheer and sometimes what
appeared to be superhuman strength and courage. Rose was devoted to making sure
her family would be just as strong as she was and have all the things they needed to
be successful. Rosalie is and will forever be loved and will always be a sweet rose in
our gardens.
Rosalie leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, Keith Holland; sister Thelma
