Rosalie Gwendolyn Kearney, daughter of the late Bertha and Charles Johnson, was born on April 6, 1919 in Cambridge, Maryland. she departed this life on Thursday, February 9, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Kearney, Sr., and two sons, John R. Kearney, Jr., and Carroll J. Dansby. Rosalie was the second of three children. She was educated in the Cambridge, Maryland Public School School System before moving to Baltimore where she met her late husband John. She accepted Christ at an early age. Rosalie was a long time member of New Unity Baptist church and later became a long standing and devoted member of the Central Church of Christ, under the leadership of the late Brother Humphrey Frontz. Rosalie had a great love for her church family. She was very involved in the Sunday School programs and Bible studies. Rosalie was always willing to assist in any capacity where her church members or ministries needed her services. She never hesitated to assist members by providing them with transportation to any of the weekly activities or Sunday services. "Rosalie" or "Ms Rose" as she was affectionately called, loved people. She always had a spirit of serving others. Rosalie had a warm, loving personality that attracted people to her. she was a homemaker and caring for her family was her joy and happiness. She leaves cherish her memories; two sons Ronald and Gregory; two daughters, Bernadette and Rosemary; a faithful niece, Celestine; 19 grandchildren; 39 Great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn of Delaware; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Her brother Russell preceded her in death.
