Obituary

On June 28, 1960, Rosalind Annette Smith was raised by Diane Smith, mother, and William Smith, father; Diane Smith preceded her in death. Rosalind Smith transitioned on September 2, 2025, at Keswick Multi-Care Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Rosalind, aka Roz, grew up in Baltimore, Maryland where she attended Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Northwestern High School located in Baltimore City. After graduating, she attended college but ultimately left and settled in for a career in banking before working at District Photos in Beltsville, Maryland. She transitioned to working for the State of Maryland in the Child Support Enforcement Department where her career spanned over twenty years working as a State Employee earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers until she retired. She dedicated her retirement years to caring for her mother, before her passing, and her daughter on a daily basis.

Roz was a beloved wife, mother, mother figure, sister, aunt, and friend, who touched the lives of many individuals with a comforting word or an engaging story. She was also a devoted and cherished church member at Triumph Church of God where she left an indelible mark on the lives of many church members who met her. Roz was always encouraging others to seek business opportunities and career advancement. Those who knew Roz will remember her infectious smile, overwhelming laughter, her deep-rooted faith, and her unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered. Roz had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.

Rosalind was married to Olakanle, in her later years when they started to build a life together just before she fell ill. Rosalind is survived by her Husband Olakanle, daughter Lateria Smith, Siblings Isaiah aka JR, Darleen aka Doll, James, Kevin (Dizhann), and Tabitha (Jamar), along with numerous Nieces and Nephews. Rosalind was preceded in death by her brother, Quinton.

A memorial service to honor Rosalind' life will be held on September 12, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Joseph H. Brown Funeral Home on 2140 North Fulton Ave. Condolences can be sent to 2917 Dupont Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215. Rosalind's legacy of love, kindness, support, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Although her physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do as Rosalind's light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
