Obituary

Rose (Rosa) Lee Ross (Johnson), daughter of the late Herbert and Wilma Johnson, was born on April 26, 1946 in Baltimore Maryland. She departed this life on March 16, 2021 after a lengthy illness.

She received her education in Baltimore City Public Schools. She graduated from Southern High School in 1964 where she sang on the Choir and served as a Red Cross Representative.

Rose loved the Lord and received HIM at an early age. She was a member of Ebenezer A.M.E. Church and served as a member of the choir and usher board as a child. Minnie "Granny" Wilson, who preceded her in death, was her heart and life. She encouraged Rose to study the bible and loved Jesus Christ with all her heart.

After high school she gained employment at Harbor View Nursing Home as a patient care Technician, and later Broadway Cleaner. Rose was a loyal and faithful employee until she retired.

Rose met Robert Wynn and from that union came one son, Kenneth, later in life she met and married Charles Ross from that union came one daughter, Cassandra.

What made Rose unique was her giving and loving compassion for her family and numerous friends everywhere she made throughout her life. She had an amazing personality and the humor she embodied was one of a kind. She was a loving mother, loyal grandmother, dedicated friend, and confidant. Words are not enough to express the gratitude that she deserved through her years. She selflessly fed everyone she encountered. She was a strong angel and will truly be missed by everyone she knew. Her spirit lives through her family and friends everywhere she traveled.

Rose loved her family dearly and they loved her and was truly blessed as a family that consisted of twelve brothers and sisters. She always wanted to be of service to help in anyway she could. She was a good listener and provided great advice.

Rose bonded with numerous family and friends, specifically from South Baltimore and West Baltimore. The families became very close and continue to this day. She became Mama Rose to many of the children. She was the one you could count on for her homemade cakes and desserts, fried chicken, or anything that was on the menu of the day. She truly enjoyed having a good time dancing and parting with family and friends keeping them together with a long-lasting joy whenever they saw her, with that friends became family.

Rose participated in many programs while living in Bolton North such as Oh Well Wellness Program and Waxter Center where she completed a computer course.

She leaves to mourn her son Kenneth Johnson, one daughter, Cassandra Ross, four grandchildren, Tiffany Johnson, Duane Jefferson, Kendrea Johnson and Ashley Jones; one sister Louise Jackson, three brothers, Frank, Chris (Sharon) and Johnny Johnson (Patricia); great granddaughters Khloe Burroughs and Kayla; nieces and nephews James Jr., Roslyn, Tige, Craig, Sean, Johnny Jr., Jeremiah, Jason, Rodney, April, Valerie, Taisha; great nieces and nephews, Tracey, Cory, Denise and a host of other close family and friends.
