Roosevelt Colvin Sr., born on November 10,1939 to the late John- son Colvin and Sally Davis Colvin, was called home to sleep with the Lord on February 27, 2014. Roosevelt known as "Roow", was born in Chester, South Carolina where he received his education in the Chester County School System. Being reared in a Christian home, Roow joined Armenia Baptist Church at an early age. Roow came to Baltimore, MD in the early 1960's where he began his career as a construction worker. Shortly after, he married and was blessed with four children. Roow later in 1967 began his career as a Taxi Cab Driver in which he loved and got up everyday to drive. Roosevelt drove for various cab companies all over Baltimore, until he retiredfrom Sun Cab Company in 2006. In 2001 Roow married his longtime confident and friend, Evelyn Colvin. Roow had a heart of gold and would do any and everything for his family. He would give you his last if that was all he had. He was a de- voted father and he had a great love for his family and friends. Any- where there was a family gathering and food, Roow was present and always ready to eat. He leaves fond memories to his devoted wife, Evelyn Colvin; two sons, Kevin and Cedric Colvin; a daughter, Michelle Colvin; a stepdaughter, Gia Hughes (Harry); a sister, Eloise Jones of Jersey City, New Jersey; two brothers, Lesilie Colvin and Major Colvin of Trenton, New Jersey; five grandchildren, Dominick, Rochelle, Tevon, Armani and London; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
