ROSETTA BOYD BARLEY quietly slipped away on Sunday, June 5, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Josephine Williams. She was raised by her mother, Josephine, stepfather, Devoid Williams and aunt, Rosalie Boyed Harris, Rosetta was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Smith, sister, Gloria and Jestine Williams and grandson, Jarrod Hamett and former husband, James Barley. Rosetta better known as "Grunt" was born and educated in Baltimore, Maryland. She was employed by the Baltimore City Heath Department. She spent her life loving and making others happy, BUT! Though she loved many, no one could take the place of her sister Vick. They shared everthing; they were best friends, raised each others children, stayed together, played together and prayed together. She was soft-spoken and sensitive. She surrounded herself with family. She was a true mother and legal guardian of Lauretta Hanna Jestine's daughter. She was gracious, respected, unchanging, nice and terrific. She was GRUNT! She is survived by: her daughter, Bernice Mickens; son Reginald Mickens; adopted daughter, Lauretta Hanna; granddaughter, Jowanda Boyd; great-grandsons, Michael Cole, Antwan Boyd and Dwayne Hamett; great-granddaughter, Shanique Boyd; two other grandchildren, Briana Frink and Darien Thomas; aunt, Annabelle Beck; three sisters, Joann Rainey, Victoria Boyd and Lavern Smith; brother, Devoid Williams, Jr; brother-in-law, Ulylussia Rainey; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
