IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roxanne L.
Johnson
July 3, 1963 – June 6, 2018
ROXANNE LYNN JOHNSON affectionately known as "Roxy", the
beloved daughter of Jeannette and the late Albert Johnson Sr. She was born
on July 3, 1963 in Baltimore, MD. She transitioned to be with the lord on
June 6, 2018 after her fight with cancer. She was strong until the very end
and fought the best battle she could.
Roxy attended Baltimore City Public Schools. She graduated from Harbor City
High School in 1982. After graduating from Harbor City she had a variety of
different jobs. Roxy was the middle child of five siblings. Roxy always had a
smile on her face.
Roxy loved cracking jokes, dancing, doing crossword puzzles, eating crabs
and Ock's bean soup. Roxy enjoyed cooking her famous meals of oodles of
noodles, hot dogs, broiled burgers, drinking a good ole beer and Pepsi,
eating chicken boxes and smoking cigarettes. Roxy was full of life. She was a
no-nonsense straight forward kind of woman. Roxanne would tell you about
yourself and keep it moving without a second. Roxy was always determined
to do whatever she wanted, no matter who did not like it. Roxanne would
tell a good lie, and actually have people believing it. She lived in her truth
and she didn't mind cussing you out. She was very well known in the
neighborhood. You could spot Roxanne's famous walk from a mile away. She
loved her family and her family truly loved her. Especially her pride and joys.
She would do anything for her children. Roxanne was a night owl, she would
sleep during the day, and handle her business at night.
During her last days she found comfort in reading Psalm 23 and singing
hymns. She was at peace after being able to speak to her children, her
mother, her special cousin Trina, and her Aunt Mort. Her children found
comfort in knowing she gave her life to Christ at three different times and
asked for forgiveness right before her transition. Roxanne never refused a
prayer from Evangelist Robin Adams.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her mom Jeannette Johnson; her
second father Charles Greene; her stepmother Shirley Johnson; her children
Sheron, Itavis also known as "Tay", and Tynika; her siblings Kevin Sr.,
Peaches, Shante, and Andre; her sister-in-law, Theresa, her uncles John and
Waverly; her aunts Margaret (Aunt Mort) and Frances; her nephews Michael
Sr., Dorrell Sr., Justin, Kevin Jr., Devon, and Chez; her nieces Markelle,
Shan- ice, India, and Brittany; her special cousins Tanya, Trina, and
Raymond;her devoted best friend Julius also known as Sneed; her devoted
good friend Akbar Abu Shabazz, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
and friends.
Roxanne was preceded in death by her father, Albert and two brothers,
Albert, Jr. & Deon.
