Ruby Linda Lewis, the daughter of Ruby and the late William West, was born on January 30, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on March 31, 2008 after a lenghty illness. She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System and the Montebello Career Center where she later became a licensed Cosmetologist; living her dream of owning her very own salon-Parrine's Cultural Hair Design. After retiring from this profession, she became a dedicated State of Maryland employee. Affectionaely known as ''Me-Ma'' and ''The Grand Diva'' by her grandchildren, she had a majestic sense of style. With her creativity, she made something beautiful out of anything. Everything she strived to be in life, she achieved. Her favorite line was ''ain't nothin' to it but to do it.'' Always the go-getter, procrastination was never an option; you become tomorrow what you chose today. Ruby made friends wherever she went. She was so funny and outgoing, always on the go, never letting grass grow below her feet. She was loving and caring and very supportive; always pushing you to be better, do better. She has a wonderdful sense of humor but being honest and out-spoken was her true nature; never leaving you to guess where she was coming from. Ruby received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at a very young age, and no matter what obstacles life threw at her, she never let go of God's unchanging hands. She leaves to mourn; four daughters, Linette, Denette, Antoinette and Davette; three sons-in-law, Alonzo, Andre and Eric; five brothers, Charlie, Cornell, Kirk William and Morris preceded her in death; one sister, Scarlet preceded her in death; five grandchildren, Shawnnette, Channette, Keyonna, Kyle and Eric; two great-grandchildren, Shaun and Ma'Lai; and a host of other relatives and friends
