Ruby Jean Thompson, was born to the late William Thomas Thompson and Mary Alice Posey- Thompson in Lima, Oklahoma on April 19,
1939. Ruby was the first born of five siblings: Lois, Loretta, Mary,
Roger and Butch. She was raised with her five brothers and sisters in EI
Reno, Oklahoma.

She was educated in the public school system and was a graduate of
Booker T. Washington High School.

At 19 years of age, Ruby moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she
proudly worked for Provident Hospital from which she later retired.
During those years she met Herbert Hodge with whom she conceived
son Herbert and Jessie Pitt with whom she conceived daughter Tamara.

Ruby also took great pride in caring for her aunt Annie B. Woods for
many years. Ruby had a great love of reading and you could find her
engrossed in various works at anytime. She also loved putting together
puzzles and listening to music, especially songs performed by her loved
ones from back home.

Ruby was a firm yet loving disciplinarian. She was a mother, friend and
care provider to many in her community. She departed this life on March
1, 2017.

Ruby was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Nesbitt.

She leaves to mourn her children: Herbert Charles Thompson Sr.
(Fiance: Shawntia Sorrell) and Tamara Alicia Thompson-Hart. Grand-
children: Pia Camille Harrison, Herbert Charles Thompson Jr., Damaris
Rone, Ravel Rone, Taylor Bowers & Destiny Peace. Great Grandchil-
dren: Kelyse Dakota Lee and Herbert Charles Thompson III; siblings:

Lois, Loretta, Roger, Butch. Longterm friends, Barbara Baker, Mary
Henley, Mildred, JD Rayner and a host of other family and friends.
